Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Book Quotes 💬

Hi friends, happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having a fabulous start to your week. Mine has been a little rough with a paper and presentation both coincidentally being due today, but thankfully I knocked them out. On the bright side, tomorrow is my school’s “Fall Break” (basically our one day of no classes to make up for the lack of breaks during this shortened semester)! I will be traveling to a city two hours away with my friends to pick up a very exciting item and go to IKEA. I am very excited to leave campus after two months and to see what shenanigans ensue! 🥳

Today’s post will be dedicated to a fun meme here in the blogworld, Top Ten Tuesday! Every week there is a new, exciting topic to create a bookish list for ranging anywhere from genres to characters, to quotes and more! It is hosted by the lovely That Artsy Reader Girl so be sure to check out her site for more information.

The topic for this Tuesday is “Favorite Book Quotes“. I don’t keep a compiled list of my favorite quotes from years past, but what I do have are memorable ones and those from my reviews. Hopefully you guys enjoy this list nonetheless! 💖

“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”

– Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

– L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

“Maybe there isn’t such a thing as fate. Maybe it’s just the opportunities we’re given, and what we do with them. I’m beginning to think that maybe great, epic romances don’t just happen. We have to make them ourselves.”

– Marissa Meyer, Cress

“Roses have both petals and thorns, my dark flower. You needn’t believe something weak because it appears delicate. Show the world your bravery.”

– Kerri Maniscalco, Stalking Jack the Ripper

“We did not ask for this room or this music. We were invited in. Therefore, because the dark surrounds us, let us turn our faces to the light. Let us endure hardship to be grateful for plenty. We have been given pain to be astounded by joy. We have been given life to deny death. We did not ask for this room or this music. But because we are here, let us dance.”

– Stephen King, 11/22/63

“We find things, just as we lose things, Eelyn. If you’ve lost your honor, you’ll find it again.”

– Adrienne Young, Sky in the Deep

“To the stars who listen — and the dreams that are answered.”

– Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

“Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right.”

– Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give

“She was a pistol wrapped up in silk. She was a blade disguised as a girl.”

– Amanda Foody, Ace of Shades

“Sometimes you have to endure painful things to realize that you’re a whole lot stronger than you think.”

– Jenn Bennett, Alex Approximately

Have you read any of the books from the quotes I mentioned above? If so, what did you think of them? What are some of your favorite book quotes?

Until next time, happy reading! ♡

    1. I’m currently slowly making my way through Anne of Green Gables and am enjoying it! I can’t wait to read the rest. Sarah J. Maas’s writing, I think, is quite beautiful. Plus, the quotes have so many emotional memories attached to them from when I was reading haha.

  1. Ooh, I absolutely adore those quotes from THUG and Ace of Shades! I was just thinking about doing a re-read of that book because it’s been ages and I want to continue with that series, so I just might do that soon 😍 And of course, that Austen quote is one of the swooniest! Great choices!
