Top Ten Tuesday: Secondary/Minor Characters Who Deserve More Love

Hello and happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having a nice start to your week. Mine has been a bit uneventful, however, I move back to college this Friday! So maybe a calm beginning of the week will balance out nicely with the hectic weekend that’s sure to come haha. 😊

Today’s post will be dedicated to a fun meme here in the bookish blogworld,Β Top Ten Tuesday! Every week there is a new, exciting topic to create a bookish list for ranging anywhere from genres to characters, to quotes and more! It is hosted by the lovelyΒ That Artsy Reader GirlΒ so be sure to check out her site for more information.

This week’s topic is “Secondary Characters Who Deserve More Love” and, let’s be real, there are SO many characters who fall into this category. After reading certain books, I’m always hoping that another one will be published centered around a minor character who made a lasting impression on me! Here are some of those characters. πŸ’–

Estelle (Anxious People) || It’s difficult to tell who were the minor characters in this book, because they all played such important roles in the story. However, Estelle truly stood out to me and I would love a separate story of her younger adult years because she has such a vibrant personality.

Pete and Maggie (Beach Read) || Gus’s aunts stole the show in whatever scene they were in, and I wouldn’t be mad about a book that talks about their love story.

Karen Sirko (Daisy Jones and the Six) || KAREN SUPREMACY Y’ALL. I loved this woman, she was hilarious and a complete girlboss! I would read her grocery lists if I could.

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) || I know she was an important character in the entire Harry Potter series, but wow do I wish I could read a book in her perspective. I would love to be in the mind of Hermione Granger, she’s just so iconic! Due to J.K. Rowling’s problematic past and present, however, I shall stick to fanfic.

Mrs. Bennett (Pride and Prejudice) || Okay, hear me out. Mrs. Bennett’s obsession with her daughter’s love lives may seem a bit insane, but I feel like there’s a sadness behind it too. I’d love to get a story from her perspective and actually find out what she’s thinking.

Genya (Shadow and Bone) || I have nothing to say except that Genya is such an interesting character with such a cool power, I’d love to explore that more in a book about her!

Zoya (Shadow and Bone) || I know Zoya shows up in future Grishaverse books, but I still wanted to include her. She’s such a bad ass and I love her character development in the books!

Janie (The Kiss Quotient) || Michael’s economist sister was so bubbly and interesting! I feel like she would have such a cute romance!

Darcy and Tara (Heartstopper) || LOVE THIS COUPLE AND WOULD LOVE AN ENTIRE STORY DEDICATED TO THEM ❀

June Claremont-Diaz (Red, White and Royal Blue) || I think we can see a trend. Hilarious sisters are my favorite type of characters and I truly want nothing but the best for them. I would especially love a story from June’s perspective and see what life is like as the daughter of a prez!

Thank you for reading this post!

Have you read any of the books I mentioned above? If so, what did you think of them?

Who are some of your favorite secondary/minor characters?

Talk to you soon! 😊

  2. I just finished finally reading Daisy Jones and while it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me, I think Karen was my favorite character! And Janie from The Kiss Quotient is a great one!

  3. I like your perspective on Mrs. Bennet. Definitely could be an interesting story there. Or maybe she just cannot help herself. πŸ˜‰ Apologies for the delay in visiting here, but thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week and for the kind anniversary comment! πŸ™‚
