Books I’m Bringing With Me to College! πŸ“šπŸ“¦

It’s that time of the year again where I have to pack up all my belongings in the span of two days and move back to college! I may dread having to fold all of my clothes and shove them into gigantic IKEA duffle bags but, for me, the most difficult part is having to pick which lucky few books I will be taking with me to my dorm.

I know, I know. I sound a bit dramatic, but it’s a tricky thing to choose the books I’m bringing with me, mainly because I am the world’s biggest mood reader. This means that I typically can never stick to any sort of planned TBR and that I almost always rely on having a huge variety just in case.

However, I think that I have chosen a good set of books that will keep me entertained until I come back home in December. Have I packed way too many books that I will most likely not have the time for… quite possibly. Are a majority of the books romances because I am always in the mood for a cute read… absolutely!

With that said, here are ✨ the chosen ones! ✨

  • Throttled by Lauren Asher
    • I’d be lying if I said I didn’t buy this book because of the new, STUNNING covers! I’m waiting to see how I feel about this first book before buying the others, but I’ve heard great things so I’m super super excited!
  • Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
    • I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book and I can’t wait to be introduced to Chloe Brown and ultimately to her iconic sisters!!
  • Fix Her Up, Love Her or Lose Her, Tools of Engagement, and It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
    • As you can tell, I’m about to have myself a huge Tessa Bailey reading-fest during this upcoming semester! I’ve honestly been waiting to read these until I got to school because I can already tell I’m about to devour these!!
  • Well Met by Jen DeLuca
    • This one sounds SO CUTE! The premise is adorable too. I mean… it mostly takes place at a Renaissance Faire… sign me UP!
  • The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas
    • I have no words to describe how EXCITED I am to read this one! It’s another book that I’ve heard nothing but great things about, and I am SO excited to be introduced to the swoony love interest that everyone is raving about!!
  • Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren
    • I always have to have a Christina Lauren book with me and I am soooo so ready to dive into this one! Friends-to-lovers is such a fun trope, I’m excited!

  • Loveless and Solitaire by Alice Oseman
    • These two books have been on my TBR forever and I cannot wait to read them. I’ve only read the Heartstopper graphic novels by Oseman, so I’m intrigued to see what I think about their novels!
  • Yolk by Mary H.K. Choi
    • No joke, I found this book at Barnes for 50% OFF today so I’m taking it as a sign that I need to bring it to college LOL. I loved Choi’s other book, Emergency Contact, so I’m very excited to read this one! Plus, the cover is STUNNING I’m so excited to show it off around my campus. ✨✨
  • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
    • I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy this summer so I’m very very excited to read this one! I haven’t read a good heist book in forever so I think that this will be a lot of fun, especially in the fall time!

  • The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
    • I’ve been DYING to read this collection of essays! I’m thinking about reading one story as a part of my morning routine or bedtime routine… or BOTH hahaha 😊
  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
    • Y’ALL. I am so disappointed that I haven’t read this yet! I’m not sure if I will be in the mood to pick it up with the dense schoolwork, but I’m hoping to listen to the audiobook of it while I’m working on said schoolwork!
  • Know My Name by Chanel Miller
    • This memoir sounds absolutely amazing and I am really really hoping to get to it this semester! I’ve heard nothing but great things!!
  • This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
    • I’m bringing this one mainly because it is super short and I think that it will be a unique story compared to all the other books I’m bringing. It’s been on my TBR for so long, I’m excited!!

Thank you so much for reading this post!

Have you read any of the books that I’ve mentioned above? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

What books would you bring with you if you were leaving home for a few months?

  3. Enjoy your upcoming college terms Taylor! As a mood reader I applaud you for being able to pick certain books, I would not be able to decide. πŸ˜…πŸ’— I haven’t read a lot of these, but I think its great you have such a variety. I think Six Of Crows is great pick because its a really immersive read. Haven’t read many of these, but love that there’s lots of romance books! I also got Yolk during the B&N sale too. Happy August!
