Top 5 Tuesday: Favorite New Authors of 2021

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope you all are having a lovely start to your week. Mine has been a bit uneventful as the Holidays are approaching, but all the free-time means that I have been reading much more which is definitely an added plus!

Today I’ll be participating in a blog meme called Top Five Tuesday! Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted by Meeghan at Meeghan Reads. πŸ’–

Today’s topic is β€œTop 5 Favorite New Authors of 2021″, and I absolutely love this prompt because I have definitely been introduced to many new auto-buy authors this past year! Authors with writing styles that I love, but also authors who have given me some of my new favorite books of all time.

With that said, here are the authors whose grocery lists I totally wouldn’t mind reading!

Tessa Bailey

This past year I read the entire Hot and Hammered trilogy, Window Shopping, and the Bellinger Sister duology by Tessa Bailey and am absolutely obsessed with her writing style! With her incredible characters and gripping plots, she has definitely become an auto-buy author for me. 😊

Taylor Jenkins Reid

I only ended up reading Daisy Jones and the Six this year but that book alone has convinced me of TJR’s immense talent! I now own most of her other books and plan to read them all in 2022 (I’m so excited for Evelyn Hugo!).

Fredrik Backman

Anxious People absolutely blew me away this year, no joke, I am still thinking about this book. Similarly to TJR, I have accumulated all of Fredrik Backman’s other books and am planning on reading them marathon-style in the New Year! πŸ‘

Emily Henry

Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation were two uniquely and beautifully written romances that had me falling in love with Emily Henry’s storytelling. These stories may just be labeled romances, but the lessons within them stick with you long after the final page. I’m still recovering after Beach Read tbh. ❀️

Leigh Bardugo

Throughout a very romance-filled reading year for me, I managed to pick up the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo and had so much fun reading it! Leigh Bardugo’s world-building is spectacular and each chapter always kept me hooked. I cannot wait to read Six of Crows soon!

That is all for this post, thank you for reading! Have you read books by any of the authors I mentioned? Who are some of your new favorite authors of 2021? πŸ’–

    1. I absolutely loved Fix Her Up, but I haven’t read or heard of The Sweetest Fix so I will definitely add that one to my reading list! Same goes for the two TJR books, especially because I’ve heard One True Loves is becoming a movie!! Thank you for your comment 😊

  1. The Six of Crows duology is legit my favorite thing Leigh Bardugo has ever done. It’s just phenomenal. I also admire you for wanting to do a Backman marathon, because I could never. Beartown, for example, emotionally destroyed me and I still have neither picked up the sequel nor mustered up the courage to watch the TV adaptation.

    1. I’m SO excited to read the Six of Crows duology! Definitely a must-have for 2022. As far as Fredrik Backman books go, I maaaay have to stretch them out a bit so I’m not completely destroyed bahahaha. Thank you for your comment! 😊
