Happy Wednesday! Today I’ll be sitting by the fireplace, attempting to finish my last book of 2022. I’m currently reading The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox and am enjoying it so far! I definitely think this will be my last holiday read of the year though since I am getting pretty burnt out with festive vibes hahaha. 😂
Today I will be participating in Can’t-Wait Wednesday, a weekly meme to share an upcoming anticipated release that you’re excited about. The blog meme was based on Breaking the Spine‘s Waiting on Wednesday, and is hosted by Wishful Endings!

This week I will be featuring…

Gallant by V.E. Schwab
Release: March 1, 2022
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Horror, Paranormal
Synopsis via Goodreads: Olivia Prior has grown up in Merilance School for girls, and all she has of her past is her mother’s journal—which seems to unravel into madness. Then, a letter invites Olivia to come home—to Gallant. Yet when Olivia arrives, no one is expecting her. But Olivia is not about to leave the first place that feels like home, it doesn’t matter if her cousin Matthew is hostile or if she sees half-formed ghouls haunting the hallways.
Olivia knows that Gallant is hiding secrets, and she is determined to uncover them. When she crosses a ruined wall at just the right moment, Olivia finds herself in a place that is Gallant—but not. The manor is crumbling, the ghouls are solid, and a mysterious figure rules over all. Now Olivia sees what has unraveled generations of her family, and where her father may have come from.
Olivia has always wanted to belong somewhere, but will she take her place as a Prior, protecting our world against the Master of the House? Or will she take her place beside him?
Ever since reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, I’ve been interested in picking up V.E. Schwab’s other books, but never knew where to start. I’ve always been intimidated by Vicious and the Darker Shade of Magic books, so when I heard of her upcoming release I was overcome with joy! I think that Gallant is not only something entirely different from what I normally pick up, but is extremely interesting to me. There’s ghosts, a parallel universe, and the main character has to decide where she falls morally. It all sounds so exciting, and I can’t wait to give it a go! 😊

That’s all for today’s post, thank you for reading! Have you heard of Gallant? If so, do you think this a book you’d enjoy? What are some other releases that you are excited for?

I’m super excited for this one too!
